The week between Christmas and New Year's always throws me. It feels like some strange space/time continuum phenomenon. But I've gotten in the habit of using that week to hunker down and focus on my own brand. I love holiday weeks for this very reason.
I don't pressure myself to work.
I definitely don't accept meetings.
I just allow myself to exist, floating from my office to lunch plans and activities with my kids, to honestly, whatever I want.
Taking that week to lower my expectations of myself and climb out from under a mountain of tedious tasks allows me to organically refocus on what I want and how I want to achieve it.
And therein lies the beauty of solopreneurship.
I decide how to spend the limbo week.
I control who has access to my calendar.
I dictate how I work when my kids are on breaks from school.
And it's that freedom that opened the floodgates of creativity...
